Starting next year, Meta will tie employee performance to their “AI-driven impact.”
The social media giant is making “AI-driven impact” a “core expectation” starting in 2026, Janelle Gale, head of human resources at Meta, told employees on Thursday in an internal memo seen by Business Insider.
Meta will assess employees on how they use AI to deliver results and develop tools that can significantly increase productivity.
Annual performance reviews in 2025 will not include individual metrics on AI usage and adoption, the memo says, but workers should include their AI-powered achievements in their self-assessments.
A Meta spokesperson referred to a previous statement to Business Insider about AI adoption: “It is known that this is a priority and we are focused on leveraging AI to support employees in their daily work,” a Meta spokesperson told Business Insider.
