Mercedes-Benz expands automated driving alliance with Nvidia

Mercedes-Benz has broadened its partnership with Nvidia to develop the “next generation” of driver-assistance and automated-driving systems.

The work combines the German carmaker’s automotive engineering, safety expertise and MB.OS operating system with Nvidia’s accelerated computing and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

According to the companies, MB.OS will enable new driving functions and over-the-air software updates, alongside Nvidia Hyperion, its in-vehicle computing and sensor architecture.

Nvidia Alpamayo Stack will supply full-stack driving software with AI reasoning for point-to-point urban driving assistance, active safety features and automated parking.
