Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA are expanding their strategic partnership to accelerate the development of next-generation automated driving technology, combining the automaker’s engineering expertise with NVIDIA’s artificial intelligence (AI) and accelerated computing capabilities.

The collaboration will build on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) and NVIDIA’s full-stack autonomous driving technologies to improve advanced driver assistance, urban driving and automated parking, while laying the groundwork for future Level 4 autonomous driving applications.

The announcement reinforces the two companies’ shared ambition to make increasingly sophisticated automated driving technology safer, more capable and accessible for everyday use.

At the center of the expanded partnership is the integration of Mercedes-Benz’s MB.OS platform with NVIDIA’s Hyperion computing and sensor architecture. The combination is designed to support new driving functions, continuous over-the-air software updates and the development of more advanced automated driving capabilities.

NVIDIA’s Alpamayo Stack will provide full-stack driving software with AI reasoning capabilities, helping vehicles interpret complex traffic situations and make more informed driving decisions.

The technology is expected to support urban point-to-point driving assistance, active safety systems and automated parking. These functions represent important steps toward more advanced vehicle automation, particularly in…
