U.S. stock index futures were little changed on Tuesday as investors assessed mixed signals surrounding negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Meanwhile, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) delivered better-than-expected quarterly results driven by AI-related demand, while Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) revealed plans for a major capital raise to expand its AI infrastructure.

Futures fall before market open

At 03:54 AM ET, futures linked to the main US benchmark indices were slightly lower. Dow Jones futures fell 60 points, or 0.1%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures each fell about 0.1%.

The subdued start followed modest gains on Wall Street during the previous session. Markets rallied after US President Donald Trump said diplomatic talks with Iran remained active, despite earlier reports suggesting Tehran had suspended indirect communications with Washington.
