Microsoft’s proposed data center in Lowell Township faces rising local resistance, with residents criticizing governance and transparency.
LOWELL, Mich. — Hundreds showed up for a Lowell Township Planning Commission meeting Monday night to oppose a proposed nearby data center from Microsoft.
The crowd once again exceeded capacity, and the meeting was adjourned within minutes.
While people were happy the meeting was adjourned early, many were still unhappy that residents weren’t able to make public comment, voicing their opposition.
Data center opponent Greg Forbes criticized the township’s governance.
