OPINION AI and religion are becoming a hot topic. Pope Leo Meanwhile, a study conducted by a consortium of religiously affiliated universities says AIs do not provide religious answers to questions.

The two critiques are, in very different ways, insightful about the uncontrolled disruption manifested by AI and how unexpected factors can materially impact the future of the industry.
