Westpac chief executive Anthony Miller is not worried that artificial intelligence could change the risk his bank takes in accepting home loans whose repayment depends on people having stable employment.
“That’s certainly a risk that’s inherent in what we do today. And does AI change that risk? No, we’ve always had it. We’ve always managed it,” Miller said at the Australian Financial Review Banking Summit on Monday.

“But it’s probably increasing a little bit in certain areas.
“There are so many skills that may not be needed in the future; the ability of AI to do what a highly skilled programmer can do suggests that many roles will change there.”
