Live: ASX set to fall further as Wall Street extends tech sell-off on AI valuation fears

Good morning and welcome to the ABC financial blog! I will be your guide for the next few hours.

It looks like this ASX200 will slide again when it opens for trading in a few hours.

But rest assured, it will be a very small drop compared to yesterday – when the Australian stock market lost almost 2% of its value (or $59 billion in dollars).

This morning, ASX futures are virtually unchanged, having only fallen by 0.1%.

The Australian dollarhas now recovered slightly and is trading above 65 US cents.

It follows another bad day on Wall Street as investors continue to sell off their holdings of companies like this one. Nvidia (-1.8%), Microsoft (-2.7%), Amazon (-3.6%), Tesla (-1.2%) that have some connection to artificial intelligence (AI).

This led to this Wall Street Reference index, the S&P500 declining for the fourth day in a row. However, today’s loss of 0.4% is significantly smaller compared to the past few days.
