When Larry Fink, the founder, chairman and CEO of the world’s largest investment fund BlackRock, says out loud in Davos what more and more people in the energy industry are saying quietly about data centers, the growth of artificial intelligence and the need for dispatchable energy, it is a clear sign that the energy and climate debate is changing.
As Fink noted, “You can’t rely solely on intermittent sources like wind and solar. They need adjustable power because these data centers can’t easily be turned on and off.”
