LG Electronics has joined Nvidia’s AI data center partner network as an official Power and Cooling partner, opening another avenue for the company to expand its data center cooling business.
LG Electronics said Sept. 27 that it had been added to the Nvidia Partner Network (NPN) as a Power and Cooling partner. The NPN is a global program that connects companies across industries through Nvidia’s AI technology ecosystem.
The listing gives LG Electronics a broader channel to reach AI data center customers around the world, the company said. It is also expected to help expand sales of its high-efficiency cooling systems, including chillers that produce chilled water and coolant distribution units (CDUs) that circulate the liquid to remove heat from servers.
LG Electronics’ 600-kilowatt and 1-megawatt CDUs have already met Nvidia’s technical requirements, making it the first South Korean company to do so. Its 2.5-megawatt CDU has also recently cleared all of Nvidia’s technical requirements, further expanding the range of its certified cooling solutions.
LG Electronics entered the data center cooling market in 2011 and has built up its lineup around large air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. The company is now targeting North America in particular, as the region becomes a major market for AI data center infrastructure.
