Lakeside senior Kameirah Johnson won the national Doodle for Google contest, earning a $45,000 scholarship and a spot on Google’s homepage.
SEATTLE — A Seattle high school senior is seeing her artwork featured on the Google homepage after winning this year’s Doodle for Google contest.
Kameirah Johnson, a 12th-grade student at Lakeside School, earned the competition’s top honor, beating out tens of thousands of submissions from students across the country.
The 2026 contest theme, “My Superpower Is …,” inspired Johnson’s artwork. In her artist statement, she wrote that her hair represents culture, care and resilience passed down through generations, calling it “undeniably beautiful.”
