The Albanian government has unveiled Australia’s first national AI plan, opting for voluntary transparency measures rather than mandatory rules for how companies disclose their use of artificial intelligence.

The 37-page plan lays out a comprehensive roadmap for building what the government calls an “AI-powered economy,” while ensuring a “careful balance between innovation and protection from potential risks.”

The government also describes the strategy as a “key pillar” of its wider strategy Future made in Australia Agenda that positions AI as central to economic performance and long-term industry development. This is not the first time this connection has been made.
