A Labor MP has taken legal action against Elon Musk’s AI company after he said its Grok tool helped a user create fake, sexualized images of her, part of a wave of such images that flooded X earlier this year.
Lowestoft MP Jess Asato said in January that it was “a violation” to see the AI tool portray her as wearing a bikini without her consent.
In a lawsuit filed at the Supreme Court in London, Asato said that xAI, the AI arm of the social media website that Grok develops, violated laws on privacy and misuse of private information by allowing users of the site to request Grok to create such images, according to the Financial Times.
Asato told the newspaper that Grok not only took pictures of her in a bikini, but also produced a video “showing her being treated with chloroform and prepared for a sexual assault.”
