The winners in the artificial intelligence race will not be the countries with the most investment or the largest number of high-end computer chips, but those that have convinced people that the technology is in their best interests, deputy technology minister Andrew Charlton has warned.
In a speech, Charlton outlined the Albanian government’s views on how to encourage the growth of productivity-enhancing tools, accelerate investment in their underlying data centers and allay concerns that the technology will drive up bills and unemployment. Charlton said the sector needed to gain public trust to avoid a major backlash.
