Huang on Paying Employees
At Computex 2026, Huang was asked about paying Nvidia employees, amid recent debates over how companies should share profits from AI growth with their workers.
“I think people should be paid as much as possible,” Huang said, as reported by Bloomberg.
The comment came after Huang was asked about Samsung Electronics reaching a compensation agreement to pay up to $400,000 in bonuses to its chip engineers.
“I pay my employees as much as I can. That’s what I do,” he said.
Samsung’s agreement came amid workers’ concerns about losing their jobs to AI and seeking compensation if they’re replaced. Huang said this was “nonsense,” as he argued AI will lead to more revenue and profits for companies in the long run.
Creating Billionaires, Taking Care Of Employees
The comments from Huang come as his wealth has soared to $181 billion, making him the eighth-richest person in the world, according to estimates from Bloomberg.
Fortune reported last year that several Nvidia employees had become billionaires with Nvidia stock price up significantly in recent years.
Speaking at an event hosted by the “All-In Podcast,” Huang shared something similar.
“I’ve created more billionaires on my management team than any CEO in the world. They’re doing just fine,” Huang said.
Huang is so active in the employee compensation process that he personally signs off on every pay packet for the company’s more than 40,000 employees.
