DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced the state of Iowa will migrate its executive branch data from an outdated IT system to a cloud environment with Amazon Web Services.
AWS will transition Iowa’s data centers and thousands of physical servers into a secure cloud-based environment. The migration is estimated to save Iowa over $525 million over the next decade, according to a press release.
The state’s day-to-day IT operations will be handled by Cognizant Government Solutions. The company will be responsible for managing servers and networks, delivering on-site technical support and various other needs.
