Intel Planning Processors with NVIDIA iGPUs in 2028

Intel is planning a new line of processors featuring integrated graphics solutions by NVIDIA, according to a report by tech journalist Erdi Özüağ. The company is planning to introduce these processors by CES 2028. There are no details on what the processor will be. Intel has, in the past, sourced big integrated GPUs from third-party vendors. For example, the 7th Gen Core “Kaby Lake-G,” a limited production-run mobile processor that paired a 4-core “Kaby Lake” CPU die with an AMD Radeon RX Vega M GPU on a multi-chip module.

Fast-forward to today, and there are several approaches Intel could take to developing such a chip. Given that it makes tile-based disaggregated client processors with SoC tiles made on TSMC nodes, it’s possible that this chip could be a “Panther Lake” or “Nova Lake” derivative that combines Compute and a truncated SoC tile from Intel; with a GPU tile from NVIDIA. Unlike Intel’s own Graphics tile, the NVIDIA tile could also integrate display engines and media accelerators. In related news, Özüağ says that Apple is in advanced stages of consultation with Intel over using its Intel 18A foundry node for manufacturing of some of its Apple Silicon products.
