For every action there must be an equal and opposite reaction. Sir Isaac Newton probably said this after a long day of scrolling on whatever social media platform. Namely, the moment I read an excellent essay by Marisa Kabas about it Refusal to accept a future of journalism poisoned by AII came across the following headline: “Esquire created a fake live-action AI-generated interview One piece Actor Mackenyu because he was busy.” Either I lose my mind or the world loses its mind.
That is not the case one of these cases where a publication tacitly relied on AI and only engaged in it after being asked to do so. Esquire Singapore fully admitted what it was doing when it published the story and used it as a supposed selling point! Of the Piece:
