Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) shares have rocketed but can the S&P 500 chip maker continue to fly now it’s the biggest company in the world?

I decided to ask ChatGPT. Not because I think the chatbot can see the future, or even value a stock. All it can do is regurgitate whatever it’s swallowed. But I thought the process may be interesting, and gave it a shot.

Nvidia shares trade at around $225 today. They’re up 1,016% over five years but the excitement has slowed lately. They’re up just 25% over the last 12 months. So I asked the bot what were the chances of Nvidia climbing 50% over the next 12 months – to roughly $338.

Let’s see what the chatbot says

That’s a tall order for a company already worth almost $5.5trn. Yet ChatGPT gave a surprisingly bullish answer, putting the probability at 30%. On the other hand, that means it sees a 70% chance of the shares failing to deliver that impressive return.

Here’s ChatGPT’s thinking: “Nvidia remains the dominant force in AI chips, and its financial numbers are extraordinary”.

Q1 2026 figures show revenue hit a record $81.6bn, up 85% year-on-year. Data centre revenue jumped 92% to $75.2bn. I don’t need a bot to tell me that’s wildly impressive.
