Jensen Huang has put the cost of licensing Nvidia’s software stack at about $2,000 per GPU annually, according to The Register’s reporting from GTC Berlin. Dan Robinson included the estimate in his October 22 account of a question-and-answer session with Nvidia’s chief executive.
The report does not name a software package or explain the purchasing conditions behind that figure. It therefore does not establish a newly announced compulsory fee for GPU owners. Nvidia already offers commercial software subscriptions, with published prices that vary by licence term and deployment method.
Its AI Enterprise suite combines tools for developing AI applications with software for managing GPU resources and infrastructure. Nvidia presents it as a supported commercial offering for organisations running AI in production, including microservices, frameworks and libraries.
