HPE surges 25% after blowout earnings, pacing for its best day ever

Actions of Hewlett Packard Company rose 25% on Tuesday, approaching its biggest daily gain ever, as the company posted its biggest profit increase since 2018.

The stock is looking to establish a new all-time intraday high.

Demand related to artificial intelligence in its server unit exceeded analyst expectations for second-quarter earnings. HPE reported adjusted earnings per share of 79 cents, versus an expected 53 cents, and overall revenue soared to $10.68 billion versus an expected $9.79 billion.

Revenue from servers alone, a subdivision of its cloud and artificial intelligence unit, amounted to $5.45 billion, beating the $4.66 billion analysts had expected.
