The impact of artificial intelligence on jobs has become one of the defining debates of today. International organizations, scientists and recruiters regularly publish forecasts about which professions are most at risk.
A new entry in this crowded field now comes from one of the AI giants themselves.
Anthropic, the company behind Claude, has released a report called “Labor Market Impacts of AI: A New Measure and Early Evidence,” based on its own real-world usage data.
The report introduces a new measure called “observed exposure” – with the aim of quantifying not only which tasks large language models could theoretically accelerate, but which are already automated in practice.
The distinction is important: theoretical performance reflects what the AI could do, while observed exposure reflects what it actually does.
