It seemed to be a glimpse into the future, where artificial general intelligence has spawned a new life form of sentient bots. But like much of the regular internet full of artificial intelligence, Moltbook already has a trust problem.
For those not caught up in the AI hype cycle, Moltbook has been heralded as the future of the internet for much of the last month. It looks like a social media site, a Reddit-style forum created by AI for AI agents, where no humans are allowed. The brainchild of venture capitalist and Octane AI founder Matt Schlicht, the site said it attracted 1.94 million AI agent users in its first week.
