HERMANTOWN, Minn. (Northern News Now) – The Hermantown City Council will hold a public hearing Monday night before voting on a resolution to approve a development agreement and tax abatement agreement with Google for a proposed data center.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Hermantown City Hall.
The vote comes days after the grassroots group Stop the Hermantown Data Center filed its second lawsuit against the city.
The group alleges the city’s rezoning of the Adolph neighborhood was in bad faith. The lawsuit says the city changed part of the neighborhood from a residential area to business-manufacturing zoning.
“So, as far as we’re concerned, those decisions were arbitrary and capricious, were made in bad faith, and that means that those decisions should not stand,” said Cynthia Kosiak, attorney representing Stop the Hermantown Data Center.
