IT services company HCL Tech Ltd on Thursday (December 18) said it had signed an agreement to acquire Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) telecommunications solutions business to strengthen its AI-based engineering and networking propositions for global communications service providers (CSPs).
The acquisition follows a previous transaction completed in 2024, through which HCLTech acquired certain assets of HPE’s Communications Technology Group. With this agreement, HCLTech will add industry intellectual property, product engineering and R&D talent, and customer relationships with world-leading CSPs.
The telecom solutions business supports more than one billion devices in more than 200 deployments worldwide and enables operations support systems, home subscriber servers and 5G subscriber data management, along with AI-powered closed-loop network automation.
