Havas ANZ’s head of planning has been moved to a newly created role as chief AI officer, becoming one of the first holding groups in Australia to formalize AI leadership at the C-suite level.

Alastair Baker, who joined the network in 2021, will now lead a unified AI strategy across the network, including to prevent AI initiatives across his agencies from becoming fragmented.

He will also oversee the local rollout of Havas’ new ConvergedAI operating system, a single AI stack across the network, mirroring efforts by other holdcos to firmly embed AI into their backend systems.

The announcement also coincided with the launch of Havas ANZ’s new brand slogan “Deliberately Different” and the promotion of Richard Clarke from head of growth and clients at Havas Creative to chief growth and marketing officer of Havas ANZ.
