David Baker, Director of the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington, sees the model as an opportunity to broaden the scope of what scientists can achieve.
“RFD4-Proteina expands what scientists can create, from proteins that could advance drug discovery to enzymes that break down pesticides,” says Baker.
“Making the model open will allow researchers around the world to build on these capabilities and pursue solutions once beyond the reach.”
RFD4-Proteina is available through a range of partners, including Amazon Bio Discovery, Anthropic’s Claude Science, Google Cloud and Hugging Face. The integrations are intended to help researchers incorporate protein design into AI agent, cloud computing and scientific research workflows.
