MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. — Google’s $15 billion data center project would receive more than $1 billion in tax breaks from Montgomery County while also generating billions of dollars in local tax revenue, according to a county analysis of the proposal.

The project, planned on more than 900 acres near Interstate 70 and Highway 19, about an hour west of St. Louis, will include multiple data center buildings and begin construction as soon as late 2026.

The Montgomery County Commission on June 8 will host a public hearing on an incentives proposal for the project that includes a 70% personal property tax abatement valued between $1.62 billion and $2.19 billion, based on the estimated $56 billion to $87.5 billion in computing equipment Google intends to house…
