Over the past couple of years, Google TV has been heavily investing in free-to-watch channels that provide 24/7 content with no charge and no accounts. Now, Google TV Freeplay has over 250 channels available following the addition of quite a lot of new channels in recent months, including several more new local news channels.
Google TV Freeplay – at the time just known as “free channels” – was introduced in 2023. Alongside hundreds more channels available through other apps, the “Live” tab on the homescreen provides access to well over 1,000 channels that users can stream at no cost.
Many of those channels do require installing additional apps, though, with Google TV Freeplay being the built-in method of streaming free & ad-supported channels.
