Google to fund $12 million water tower near Fort Wayne campus

Google plans on paying about $12 million for a Fort Wayne City Utilities water tower near its data center campus on Adams Center Road, an official said Tuesday.

Fort Wayne Three Rivers Filtration Plan, part of City Utilities, has filed an application with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for a construction permit for an elevated storage tank. Frank Suarez, City Utilities public information director, said Google will pay for the construction.

“This elevated water storage will help improve reliability, resiliency, and performance of our water system in the south/southeast portions of our service area,” Frank Suarez, City Utilities public information director, said Tuesday in an email.
