Google is bringing a new 3D navigation experience to Google Maps that turns the flat map you’re used to into a more realistic, spatial view of the road ahead. The update replaces the usual top‑down layout with a live 3D environment that shows buildings, overpasses, and other landmarks in greater detail. The company says this change should make it easier for drivers to understand complex junctions and multi‑level roads at a glance.

Important details like lanes, exits, crosswalks, and traffic lights have been made to stand out more onscreen. Google is also updating Maps’ voice guidance to sound more natural and context‑aware.
