I’ve spent time with Google’s latest Pixel 11 Pro and even took it on a lovely photowalk around the city of Paris. I shot a load of photos that I genuinely like, mostly using Google’s new Camera Looks, which applies a variety of filmic presets to your images. The results are decent, but Google has a secret weapon for photographers that it’s surprisingly shy about, and I think it’s time that the company fully harnessed its capabilities. 

Snapseed is one of my favorite photo editing apps. It’s simple to use, packed with features and totally free on iOS and Android. It’s one of the best photo editing apps around, and it happens to be made by Google. There’s no branding when you open it, no “About” section that references Google, and the only time you’d see the company’s name is when you download it. 

It’s remarkably charitable of Google to offer an incredibly feature-dense editing app at zero cost. It doesn’t even try to shoehorn Gemini ads down…
