BUFFALO, W.Va. (WCHS) — As Google moves forward with a proposed data center site in Buffalo, some residents say their feelings are complicated.
Christopher Tucker, who is from Buffalo and hopes to move back someday, said his first reaction was disappointment and fear.
“Our first reaction was a disappointment and I think fear,” Tucker said.
Tucker said his family still has concerns about what the project could mean for their hometown, including water use, pollution and noise. But after Google launched a website specific to the Buffalo project, he said some of that fear has turned into optimism.
“It provides some hope and some relief to the people of Buffalo that Google was reaching out and kind of giving this platform and this kind of path of communication,” Tucker said.
