A developer who said he had their entire Data (D): drive wiped out by accident by an artificial intelligence tool developed by Google said that at least the AI agent was very apologetic about it and admitted its mistake.
“I am deeply, deeply sorry. This is a critical failure on my part,” the AI tool admitted after confirming the developer never asked it to delete its entire D: drive.
How Did This Happen?
The developer, who goes by his Reddit name of Deep-Hyena492, took to the platform to recount his alleged experience with Google Antigravity. This is an AI-based integrated development environment running on Google’s Gemini AI which enables developers to delegate complex coding to autonomous AI agents.
Newsweek contacted Google for comment by email on Sunday, outside of standard working hours. It could not, at this time, verify the claims made by Reddit user Deep-Hyena492.
