A former Microsoft employee who joined Indian artificial intelligence startup Sarvam AI has shared how his parents’ initial concerns about his career move turned into pride following the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where the company’s technology drew widespread attention.
Harveen Singh Chadha, who left Microsoft around 10 months ago to join Sarvam, stated in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that his parents had not been happy with his decision at the time. He informed that when he returned home after the summit, they were smiling and visibly proud.
Chadha stated that his father showed him recordings from news channels and newspaper mentions featuring Sarvam, while his mother spoke about promoting the company in WhatsApp groups and among neighbours. He described the moment as a small win, while acknowledging that there is still a long journey ahead.
