Texas-based data protection firm FalconStor on Thursday unveiled Habanero, its latest SaaS offering for IBM Power customers.
The company said Habanero gives IBM Power users the ability to run mission-critical workloads on-premises while establishing offsite protection – without deploying new infrastructure or making changes to their existing backup routines. As a fully managed service, the software provides secure offsite retention, disaster recovery copies, and long-term archives.
While IBM Power represents a smaller portion of the overall cloud market — behind leaders VMware, Google Cloud, Microsoft, and Oracle — the company has 40,000 customers globally. While IBM doesn’t break out revenue figures for its Power Systems business, its overall infrastructure segment showed a 17% year-over-year increase in the third quarter of 2025.
