new York | EY has retracted a study on loyalty rewards programs that contained apparent AI hallucinations and fake footnotes – the latest example of a professional services firm misled by the new technology.
The study, used by EY consultants in Canada to market their cybersecurity business, used fabricated data, misattributed quotes and referenced a McKinsey report that doesn’t exist, online researchers found.
