EVA AI presented me with the perfect opportunity at the app’s “EVA AI Café,” a pop-up in a Manhattan wine bar where participants can set up “dates” with AI personas. So I signed up and readers, it was one word: embarrassing.

The decor in EVA’s neon-lit AI Café is pretty romantic: There’s a phone on a stand on each table, equipped with the app, along with headphones and a cocktail (for humans, of course). The cafe also served a free starter of fried potatoes, which again the all-inclusive companions couldn’t enjoy.
