TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Tucson police said a driver has died from his injuries in a rollover crash near Oracle and Miracle Mile.

According to police, the accident occurred on April 12 and only involved a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

The TPD said 23-year-old Angel Said Matuz Barrera was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.

TPD said it was notified of his death on Thursday, April 16.

A woman in the truck suffered minor injuries.

Police say there is evidence that the Silverado was traveling east on Miracle Mile.

As the truck entered the southbound curve onto Oracle Road, Barrera lost control, the truck slid sideways, struck a raised median and rolled several times.

Investigators believe the driver’s failure to control his speed was the main reason for the accident.

The fact that he was not wearing a seatbelt also contributed to the severity of his injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing.
