Beginning In 2028, AI is expected to create more jobs than it eliminates, meaning strong internal talent pipelines will be critical to meet the future workforce Demand, new research from Gartner suggests.
Gartner HR Director Analyst Kaelyn Lowmaster noted that “AI will ultimately lead to more job gains than job losses, but im Proceedingsit will destroy millions of careers.”
She said: “As AI changes the way work is done, companies must rethink how employees acquire expertise and experience or they will be left without talent for the jobs AI creates.”
A December 2025 Gartner survey of 110 HR leaders found that 40 percent of companies have eliminated outdated roles to better adapt to evolving business needs, as companies rapidly adopt AI and redesign work around new technologies.
