GREENSBORO, N.C. — Google is great for a lot of things; when you need to figure out a substitute ingredient for a recipe, or when you need to figure out how to fix something. But Googling to find a customer service number for Facebook or Amazon? That can be dangerous. Scams are everywhere.
“So I Googled numbers for customer service, and several came up. And I called the first one.”
But the number this woman dialed was not really Facebook customer service! And she was about to give her personal info to a scammer.
“At this point, I’m like oh my go,d what have I done!”
