Australian eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant announced on Friday she would investigate the rise in sexually explicit images relating to adults and children. She said companies have the power to prevent misuse of their products and they must put an end to the creation of sexual images without consent.
Inman Grant clashed with Musk last year when eSafety demanded that X remove footage of a knife attack at a Sydney church, arguing that global removal was necessary because Australians could use VPNs to access the content. The case was dismissed.
