A report on Thursday evening (AEDT) revealed that US officials had drafted legislation that would restrict the shipment of AI chips anywhere in the world without US approval. Further details were later confirmed by the Financial Timesthat the rules will require countries whose companies want to buy large quantities of Nvidia and AMD chips to commit to investing in America in unspecified amounts.
