In a message sent by President Abelardo de la Espriella to the UN General Assembly, read by Vice President Jose Manuel Restrepo, the Colombian president outlined the role he wants Colombia to play in the international arena as technology advances.
“Colombia does not want to watch from the stands as the technological transformation of our time takes place,” De la Espriella said. “We want to participate in it. We want to train young people for superintelligence, robotics, data science, agribusiness, engineering and the new economies.”
But before that intention was presented at the UN, Vice President Restrepo had already proposed to Microsoft the possibility of developing a pilot cooperation program focused on training young people and adults to use artificial intelligence.
