CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – The City of Clinton celebrated new life coming to a building that’s been vacant for nearly two decades.
Leaders hosted a ribbon cutting on June 9, 2026, for a new data center for Amazon Web Services (AWS), which is a $1 billion investment. The center will be located inside the old Delphi building in the Clinton Industrial Park.
AWS officials said the project will have a major economic impact on the community.
“This is the most significant economic development project in the history of Clinton,” said Clinton Mayor Will Purdie. “We are proud to welcome AWS to our community and excited about the opportunities this investment will create for our residents, our schools, and future generations of Clinton families.”

According to officials, the data center will create hundreds of temporary construction jobs and around 100 permanent jobs.
