Citrix launches dual-boot UniconOS for Windows recovery

Citrix has launched a dual-boot version of UniconOS for Windows endpoints, available in UniconOS Release 7 2607.

The product is intended to help organisations regain access to applications within minutes when a Windows device is affected by ransomware, a failed update, operating system corruption or a configuration error.

A second UniconOS environment sits alongside Windows on the same physical disk in a separate partition. Isolated through secure boot, it operates independently of the Windows file system, allowing users to select UniconOS from the boot menu if Windows is unavailable.

Once the machine starts in UniconOS, users can sign in and reconnect to applications through Citrix DaaS and Citrix SecurAccess with Chrome Enterprise. The aim is to keep staff working while security and IT teams investigate the affected…
