ChristianaCare has announced that a cybersecurity incident involving its third-party electronic medical records provider Oracle Health, formerly Cerner Corp., exposed patient information and medical records.
Delaware’s largest health care provider did not disclose the number of patients affected, but letters are being sent to patients whose information was involved in this incident.
The data varied depending on the patient, but could also include names; social security numbers; and patient records, such as medical record numbers, physicians, diagnoses, medications, test results, images, care and treatment.
“ChristianaCare’s IT systems were not affected and there was no disruption to ChristianaCare’s clinical operations,” ChristianaCare said in a Nov. 26 statement.
