A Channel 9 promotional clip using AI has been removed from Queensland broadcasts after viewers and insiders reported unrealistic landmarks and a Brisbane cityscape that never existed.

The promo, created in Sydney and aired in Queensland, showed a nighttime aerial view of Brisbane’s CBD with what appeared to be two Story Bridges installed at opposite ends of the city.

The clip also showed high-rise buildings that don’t exist and showed the Brisbane River expanding sharply into a coastal bay on the city’s western edge.

Sources told The Courier Mail the issue was only discovered after the promo had already aired in Queensland.

The promo aired in Queensland but was produced in Sydney before being taken off the air.

A Nine spokesman denied claims that there was an error during broadcast.

“Any false footage will be uncovered through normal production checks and processes,” a spokesperson told The Courier Mail.
