Broadcom has introduced a private AI cloud strategy that allows enterprises to pursue artificial intelligence (AI) transformation without completely replacing the VMware-based infrastructure they have built over years. The plan involves applying VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) on top of existing virtualization assets to incrementally integrate GPU and AI workloads, while enabling consistent management of data, security, and operational policies.
Broadcom held a briefing on the 9th at the Gangnam Finance Center in Seoul to present key announcements from VMware Explore 2026 held in Las Vegas, along with its South Korean market strategy. Paul Simos, Broadcom’s vice president of software for Asia, and Kim Jeong-hwan, vice president of Broadcom Korea, attended the event.
Simos assessed that as AI adoption expands beyond pilot projects into actual business operations and core systems, enterprises are confronting challenges around data sovereignty, security, infrastructure costs, and operational complexity. He emphasized that industries handling sensitive data—such as manufacturing, finance, and the public sector—particularly need environments where AI models can be operated securely while reducing dependence on external clouds.
