Since late 2025, Broadcom has proven itself a strong advocate for the upcoming Wi-Fi 8, with multiple modular chip releases designed to power routers, access points, clients, and gateways.

Today, the chip maker continues that trend by releasing a trio of new dual-band Wi-Fi 8 system-on-chips (SoCs), including the BCM6772, BCM6774, and BCM6776, as part of the BCM677x family.

Of the three, the BCM6776 is slated to be part of something that offers more than just wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

Dong’s note: This piece has been updated since its initial publication to clarify that the BCM6776 SoC is selected for an FWA reference platform that includes Samsung’s 5G modem.

Broadcom’s new BCM677x family of Wi-Fi 8 SoCs includes the BCM6772, BCM6774, and BCM6776. Of the three, the BCM6776 is the first on the market to be part of a fixed wireless access (FWA) platform that includes Samsung’s new B1320 5G cellular modem.
